The BMW 1 Series M Coupe - it's official
The whole ‘Will it – Won’t it’ debate about a BMW 1 Series ‘M’ version has been rumbling on for decades (not quite, it just feels that way) with many convinced that not only would BMW make an ‘M’ car for their smallest car but would call it the M1. It was laughable (we can say that because, thankfully, we always rubbished the idea) to think BMW would waste an iconic moniker on a baby ‘M’ car. Well’ they’ve made the car but they haven’t wasted the moniker - it’s the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.
Toyota C-HR Concept revealed as a funky urban crossover
Last week we had a tease for the Toyota C-HR Concept and now, with its debut just over a week away at the Paris Motor Show, Toyota has revealed the first couple of photos. Likely based on the Auris – and arriving in 2015 as the Toyota Auris Cross – the C-HR Concept is a funky, high-riding urban crossover aimed at the burgeoning crossover market and destined to slot in below the RAV-4. What the C-HR Concept also does is preview a more cutting-edge design language from Toyota with shallow headlights merging in to the front grill, vertical running lights, big haunches, oversized wheels (which are unlikely to make production) and boomerang-shaped LED tail lights.
Interbrand has released its 2012 Top Global Brands rankings for 2012 with Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, VW and Honda the top four car brands. Last year, when we had the 2011 Top Global Brands revealed, Toyota managed to come at the top despite a year beset with the woes of the Tsunami. And for 2012, Toyota has hung on to its top automotive brand gong with a brand value of $30.28 billion.
